Van Wallace

Mr. Van Junior Wallace, age 75 of Cary, NC died Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born June 6, 1943 in Caldwell County, N.C. Mr. Wallace was a son of the late Ora Van Wallace and Louise Colvard Wallace and was preceded by his wife Peggy Annas Wallace. He is survived by his fiancée Vicky Brown, Sisters - Shelby Jean Griffin of Morganton, Scottie Wallace Shaver of Hudson, Ginger Wallace Estes and Brother Lonnie Wallace of Lenoir and numerous nieces and nephews. Van was a wonderful brother, companion and friend. He graduated from Hudson High School in1961 and was a graduate of Appalachian State University. He was an avid fan of N.C. State Wolf Pack. He was a member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary, N.C. He had many interests and volunteered for a number of organization. He was a member of Cary MacGregor Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and was awarded Rotarian of the year in 1998. Van was bestowed the Touched by an Angel award by Helping Hands Mission, Inc in recognition for devoted and unselfish deeds in providing support and services to Raleigh Families, Van was also involved with Swift Creek Exchange Club. A celebration of Mr. Wallace’s life will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 3:00 PM.Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Crisp, Tom Myers, Daniel Hamilton Ethan Radar. Shane Woodward, and Michael Zimmer. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America and St. Jude Children Hospital.
