Travis Larry Richardson

Lenoir, NC -  Mr. Travis Larry Richardson, age 41, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. Mr. Richardson was born in Union City, TN on May 27, 1969 to the late Johnnie H. Richardson, formerly of Stoney Creek, TN and Janet Dugger Richardson currently residing in Lenoir. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents. He played golf for South Caldwell High School and received scholarships to play at both, Catawba Valley Community College and Western Carolina University. He made the All American Golf Team while at CVCC. He won the Caldwell County Amateur Golf Tournament two consecutive years and still holds the course record at Lenoir Golf Club. Other than his mother, Mr. Richardson is survived by his brother, Tracy Alan Richardson; his sister, Donna Caldwell and husband, Kenneth Caldwell, Jr.; niece, Cydney Caldwell and nephews, Kent and Connor Caldwell. He is also survived by several cousins and his best friend, John Letterman. A celebration of Mr. Richardson’s life will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Union Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 with Pastor Sam Craven officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at First Baptist Church of Whitnel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr.Richardson’s golf associates. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
