Tony Davenport

Mr. Tony Ray Davenport, age 68, of Lenoir passed away at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson on Monday, August 12, 2019 after an extended illness. Born August 9, 1951 in Caldwell county, he was a son of the late Noah Frank and Mattie Foster Davenport. Tony had worked in the furniture industry for over 40 years.He loved baseball and was an avid Cubs fan.He attended paramedic school at CCCTI and was very proud of that.The thing that meant the most to Tony was family, especially his grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tonia Davenport Simmons; a brother, Coy Davenport; two sisters, Frances Davenport Pritchard and Katherine Davenport Locklear. Survivors include two daughters, Chasity Davenport Dula Triplett (husband Keith) and Angela Davenport; his grandchildren, Casey Simmons, Katie Simmons, Jefferson Carter Dula, Connor Dula, Jack Triplett, Emma Triplett, Alex Farr and Caleb Wooten; his great grandchildren, Cason Hunt, Gracie Simmons, Lacie Leach, Daniel Leach, Jayvius Dula and Everly Rose Wooten; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A private memorial service celebrating Tony’s will be held at Belleview Cemetery in Lenoir. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.evanfuneralservice.com.
