Tommy Crouse

Tommy Van Crouse, age 73 of Hudson, passed away August 31, 2023 after a 3 year battle with cancer, at Amorem Hospice of Valdese. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. JB and Joan Crouse and his youngest brother, Dennis.

Those left to cherish his memory are Sarah his wife of 46 years, his two sons, David Crouse of Granite Falls, Bryan and wife Christy of Taylorsville. Grandchildren Trent, Lanie and Cooper Crouse who were his pride and joy.  Brother Terry and wife Sherry, sister Diane and sister-in-law Joy.  Special nieces Lauren and Brooke and their children, Olivia, Ashley and Aiden.  Brother-in-law Larry Harrington and wife Jaretta, sisters-in-law Martha Brewer and husband Bud, Beverly Johnson and husband Mike, and Sharon Harrington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Tommy was a US Army Veteran in the 82nd Airborne Division.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and on various committees and positions.  He was a member of the Caldwell Honor Guard where he served as Chaplin and a member of the 82nd Airborne Association.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson, on Monday, September 4. 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Livingston and Pastor Ed Ford officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Robert Marshall, Keith Moore, Dale Cline, Greg Crouse, Gene Davis and Phil Turnmire.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank McCreary Cancer Center, Autumn Care of Drexel and Amorem Hospice of Valdese for the care he received while he was there.
