He was born in Burke County on March 11, 1979 to Iven Lewis and Terrie Cook. T.J. loved everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a lovable guy with a bigger than life heart. In addition to his father, Iven Lewis and wife, Diana and mother, Terrie Cook and husband, Ron he is survived by his step-father, Daniel “Budro” Cornett; grandparents, Clyde and Eula Church; children, Destiny and Dylan Lewis; step-sons, Matthew Weaver and Bryson Wood of Odessa, TX; sisters, Marcia Cornett, Bethany Cornett and Jessica Walsh and husband, John; Tona Burchette; brother, Jordan Cornett; aunts, Patti Proctor and Tina Slaughter; uncle Larry Lewis of Creston; and numerous other family members and friends. A celebration of T.J.’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Raymond Spann and Tony Burchette officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ryan Dunn, Mylan Moretz, Josh Kirby, Jeremy Kirby, Michael Pearson and Joe Lewis.
