Tim Miller Granite Falls, NC – Mr. Timothy “Tim†Duane Miller, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Hospice of Catawba Valley. Tim was born in Catawba County on August 4, 1957 to Anita Harris Miller and the late Alfred Ray Miller. He was married to Delorese Annas Miller of the residence. Tim was a 1975 graduate of Granite Falls High School and a member of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, finance committee member and cemetery committee member. He retired in 2006 as Western Branch Manager of the North Carolina Emergency Management. After retirement Tim began working as an independent consultant naming his company Blue Ridge Preparedness Group. He was recognized nationally for his knowledge of emergency services and provided consulting services in many states across the nation. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Robert Duane Miller; daughter, Susan Miller Bumgarner and husband, Clint; three brothers and their wives, Steve and Diane Miller; Larry and Sandra Miller; Doug and Regenia Miller; grandchildren, Gracie Norton and Avery Bumgarner; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2012 with Pastor Don Ingle, Pastor Ron Winkler and Tim Rogers officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Charlotte Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be members of North Carolina Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Medical personnel. The family will receive friends at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
