Thurston Bolick

Lenoir – Mr. Thurston William Bolick, age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 29, 1929 to the late Eli Bolick and Verty Baker Bolick. Mr. Bolick was retired from his company, Bolick Construction. He was an avid golfer and loved to work in his garden. He was a lover of people, having never met a stranger, which was recognized by the huge amount of people that visited him while he was sick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Jean Bolick; son, Jim Bolick; sisters, Iretha Bolick, Elmer Hartley, Eula Hartley and Ada Davis; and his brother, Richard Bolick. Mr. Bolick is survived by his son, Junior Reese and wife, Evelyn; daughter, Debra Beane; sister, Dot Griffin; brothers, Troy Bolick and Toy Bolick; grandchildren, Shannon Reese, Tracy Blevin, Stacy Beane, Corey Beane; six great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM. Mr. Bolick’s graveside service will be private.
