Lenoir, NC- Mr. Thomas Dean Wheeling, age 28, of Lenoir, passed away at his home on Monday, August 6, 2012. Born October 25, 1983 in Caldwell County, Thomas was the son of William Dean and Susan Fail Wheeling of Lenoir. Thomas was a plumber and jack of all trades. He was Baptist by faith and attended the Grandview Park Baptist Church. Thomas was a semi pro Motocross rider and was the youngest participant to finish Mountain Bike Mania. He loved wrestling, playing football and playing baseball. He was a power lifter and the winner of the Iron Man Competition in High School. Thomas was also pro rated as a Foosball player. Since his passing, Thomas’ Facebook page has been filled with messages of support and comfort by those who cared for him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Frank and Katherine “ Nana” Fail; his paternal grandparents, Reverend Stanley “Papaw” and Ressie “ Mamaw” Wheeling; two uncles, Wayne Wheeling and Bryce Wheeling. In addition to his parents, he is survived by aunts, Lorraine Hobson of Yadkinville, Juanita Johnson of Wilkesboro, Mary Willeford of Glen Eden Beach, Oregon, Pattie Lee of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Janice Wheeling Moses of Lenoir; his fiancé, Heather Little of Catawba County; his step daughter, Baley Little of Catawba County; his faithful pets, Buddy, Chloe the Grand puppy, and Smokey the Cat; He is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Thomas’ life will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Grandview Park Baptist Church with Pastor Raymond Spann and Pastor Benny Greene officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Barlow, Chris Gormely, Landon Jarvis, Jordan McCall, Brandon Norris and Anthony King. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Minton and Scott Hobson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service.
