Terry Lee Holsclaw

Granite Falls – Terry Lee Holsclaw, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on February 14, 1949 to the late Mack William Holsclaw and Mabel Teem Holsclaw. He was married to Dianne Bowman Holsclaw of the residence for 54 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Holsclaw Anderson; brother-in-law, David Anderson; nephew, David Anderson, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Susan Bowman. Other than his wife, Terry is survived by his son, Gregory Holsclaw and wife, Crystal; daughter, Sharon Holsclaw Mitchell and husband, Tracy; mother-in-law, Esther Bowman; brothers-in-law, Tom Bowman and wife, Pam and Charles Bowman; sister-in-law, Teresa Rader and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Ryan, Sierra and Adam Holsclaw; Mason Lutz and Natalie Lane; great-grandchildren, Devon Holsclaw and Skylinn Smith; niece, Dawn Anderson Gardner and husband, Adam Gardner, and nephew Darius Allen and wife Katie. Terry was a veteran of the United States Army obtaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. He served in Vietnam and later Desert Shield/Storm and earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After returning home he joined the North Carolina National Guard having a total of 30 years military service. Terry enjoyed playing with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, restoring his 1967 Chevrolet Malibu, playing golf and working in his garden. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
