Teddy Joe Nelson

Teddy Joe Nelson, age 68, of Morganton, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at UNC Health Blue Ridge.  He was born January 2, 1955 in Caldwell County to the late Rastus Nelson and Virginia Dare Colvard Nelson.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Benny Ray Nelson, Vernon Edward Nelson, and James Ervin Nelson; half-brothers, Jack Nelson, Jim Nelson, and R.B. Nelson; and half-sister, Georgie Nelson.

Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Katrina Beth Burns and fiancé Justin Wayne Jones; grandchildren, Jordan Michelle Andrews, Collin Dale Andrews, and Jackson Lee Burns; brother, Randy Nelson and wife Rosezean; sister, Mary Jane Barnes and Judy N. Summerow and husband Tracy.

Teddy loved his family especially his grandchildren.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Evans Funeral Service.
