Ted Clifton Crowe, 80 of Lenoir went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was one of 9 children, born February 7, 1942, to Dewey Crowe and Cleota Ellen Hampton Crowe. Ted will be remembered in our hearts as a loving husband, father, brother, Paw Paw, and loyal friend to many. He never met a stranger and often introduced himself with a funny joke. Ted’s vivacious personality and humor will live on through many precious memories shared by his loved ones. He was an avid sportsman, and an inductee of the Caldwell County Sports Hall of Fame based on his accomplishments in numerous sports, including baseball, basketball, and archery. Ted enjoyed playing golf and was known for his ability to win a game of rummy. Along with his parents and five brothers, Ted was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Clark Crowe. He is survived by his son, Vernon Alan Crowe, two daughters, Kathy Crowe Kent and Karen Crowe Huffman and husband Randy Huffman; sisters, Shelby Buchanan and husband, J.D; Justine Hollars; Sandra Hilton and husband, Jim; six grandchildren, Kathryn Reid and husband Justin, Kaylen Kent, William Kent III and wife Brianna, Blake Greene, Emily Greene, and Gracie Huffman; and one great granddaughter, Kamryn Greene. A Memorial Service celebrating Ted’s life will be held at Hartland Baptist Church on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Dr. Todd Smith and Dr. Steve Parker officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 until 12:00.
