Sylvia Gentry

Lenoir – Mrs. Sylvia Adams Gentry, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born in Wilkes County on March 9, 1934 to the late Roosevelt Adams and Bessie Baldwin Adams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Gentry. Mrs. Gentry is survived by her daughter, Karen Gentry and life partner, Merton Jenkins; sister, Ruth Sullivan; brother, Fred Adams; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Cajah’s Mountain Church of God on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 11:00 until 12:00. A celebration of Mrs. Gentry’s life will be at 12:00 Noon at the church with Pastor Sam Abee officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
