Susie Clark Gentry

Lenoir, NC - Mrs. Susie Vernice Clark Gentry, age 87, of Lenoir, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born March 11, 1923 in Caldwell County, Susie was a daughter of the late, Black and Mattie Baldwin Clark, and wife of the late Paul F. Gentry, Sr. She had worked for many years in the furniture industry. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul F. Gentry, Jr.; seven brothers and sisters, Carl Clark, Buster Clark, A.B. Clark, Billy Clark, Arlene Dula, Tootsie Edmisten and Annie Bryant. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Gentry Moore and husband Joe and Paula Elaine Gentry; two sons, Ricky Gentry and William Douglas Gentry and wife Patsy; her grandchildren, Kenneth Byers, Brian Byers, Joseph “Jody” A. Moore, Paul F.Gentry III, Casey Gentry, Tammy Dalton, and Macie Gentry; she is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Susie’s life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the West Lenoir Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Safriet, Dr. James Lockee, and Paul Gentry. Interment will follow the service in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 PM on Thursday, February 17 at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
