Susan Bradshaw Miller

Newton- Susan Carswell Miller, age 56, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Charleston, SC on May 27, 1965 to the late Harold and Marie Carswell. Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be remembered for her selflessness, smile that lit up the room, jovial spirit and her ability to make everyone around her laugh. Susan was passionate about her long-time career as an upholstery sewer. She valued meaningful relationships in every aspect of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Carswell. Susan is survived by her husband, Calvin Miller; son, Chris Sharman and wife, Cait; daughter, Heather Suddreth and husband, Mickey; daughter, Sarah Bradshaw and Paul Allen; grandchildren, Jaidyn, Zander and Nora; brother, Randy and Melanie Carswell; brother, Bruce and Molly Carswell; nieces and nephews; and the many friends that she called family. A celebration of Susan’s life and the uplifting of her spirit will be held at Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jack Hodges officiating. By Susan’s request she will be laid to rest near her mother, Marie, in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
