Sue Walker Clark

Betty Sue Walker Clark, age 73, of Collettsville, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her residence. Born April 1, 1939 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late George W. and Bessie Dyson Walker of Lenoir and the wife of the late Coye R. Clark of Collettsville. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents; husband; oldest son, Boyd Douglas Clark; 2 sisters, JoAnne Watson and Georgie Walker; and 2 brothers, Raymond Walker and William Clark. Mrs. Clark was an active member of Grandview Park Baptist Church and was retired from both Caldwell County Schools and Avery Dennison Labels, Inc. She is survived by 3 sons: Larry Ransom Clark and wife, Robin, of Collettsville, Gary Randall Clark and wife, Monte, of Hudson; and Jeffery Dale Clark of Collettsville; 2 step-daughters: Melody McLean and husband, Paul, of Hudson; and Lois Ann Presnell of Blowing Rock; 4 sisters: Lois Costner and husband, Hugh of Lenoir; Doris Walker of Blowing Rock; Judy Whisnant and husband, Reggie of Monroe; and Diane Price and husband, Junior of Lenoir; 7 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Clark's life will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Reverend Raymond Spann. Burial will follow at the Clark Family Cemetery in Collettsville. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel.
