Shirley Shew Stone

Shirley Shew Stone, age 80 of Lenoir, NC passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Shirley was born on July 29, 1943 to Hillary and Lola Marie Shew.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her fiancé Edward Bird, her former husband Staley R. Smith, and daughter Pamela Marie Sherrill, her brothers Thomas Shew, Bruce Shew, sisters Sue Blackburn, Linda Koontz, and Ina Nealey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Madelene Cline, sisters Ester Forester, Betty Saferite, sister-in-law Barbara Ann Bird, brother-in-law Ceacil Bird, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley enjoyed reading her Bible and having fun times with her friends and family.

A memorial service to honor Shirley Shew Stone will be held at Rock Creek Baptist Church on December 2, 2023 at 2:00PM with Pastor Gary Shew officiating.
