Steven Lingle (Tank) Claremont – Steven Ray Lingle, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. He was born on October 1, 1981 to Garry Lingle and Barbara Sturgill Sams. Steven worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed calling his Grandmother and having long talks with her. His Mom will forever hold Steven close to her heart, but she knows he is with his Heavenly Father.Steven had a love for the mountains, particularly Johns River, and he enjoyed playing his Grandpa’s guitar and singing. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and was known by his biker brothers as “Tank”. Stevenloved playing with his nieces and nephews and they will miss his laughter. Steven was preceded in death by his step-father, Bobby Sams and his cousins, Chris Clemmons, Rhonda Flanery and Ruby Ann Baker. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his close friend and brother, Burly Pugh; grandparents, Ray and Ann Sturgill; brother, Garry Sturgill and wife, Anna; sister, Carrie Lingle; brother, Brandon Lingle; nephews, Austin Walker and Brandon R. Lingle; niece, Kylee Smith; aunts and uncles, Patty and William LeFevers and Dianna and Ben Baker; his biker brothers in the Hickory Riding Club; and numerous cousins and other close family members. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM. A celebration of Steven’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jody York officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
