Steven Brent Lester

Steven Brent Lester, 39, of Vale, NC passed away on Monday, September 13, 2022, surrounded by his family at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC.

Brent grew up in Freeburn, Kentucky and was the son of Chester Lester (Genette) of Freeburn, KY and Wanda Hurley Byrd (Chuck) of Hudson, NC. He leaves behind his two sons, Health and Lucas and will be missed dearly by his sisters (Brandi Lester Reinhardt (Tyler) and Kelee Lester) and brothers (Nathan Byrd (Megan) and Zach Byrd (Brooklyn). Brent’s late grandparents were Earl and Pearl Lester of Stopover, KY and Lemore Hurley of Phelps, KY. His surviving grandparents include Roy Browning of Hardy, KY and Janice Warrix of Newton, NC. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.

Brent gave his life to Jesus last year and attended church in Ashville, NC, where he witnessed to many and shared God’s love. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, fishing, and how much he loved his momma.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Evans Funeral Service and Crematory in Lenoir, NC from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 3:30 PM at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC.Evans Funeral Service and Crematory of Lenoir, NC is serving the Lester family.
