Steve Worley Mcdade

Lenoir, NC ? Mr. Steve Worley McDade, age 64, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Carolina?s Medical Center in Charlotte. Born December 27, 1945 in Caldwell County, Steve was a son of the late Roy Arnold and Lucille Gibson Worley McDade. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylvia McDade and Bobbie Shew. Steve is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Judy Smith McDade. Other than his wife he is survived by one son, Gibson McDade and wife Ashley of Lenoir; his mother-in-law, Ivalene Smith of Lenoir; two sisters, Linda Webb of Huntersville; Celia Warrior of Anchorage, AK; one brother, Roy Arnold ?Mackie? McDade, Jr. of Virginia; nephew Darryll Hendricks and wife Gabrielle along with their children, Max and Benjamin of New York. He is also survived by numerous cousins, long-time friends and his community of loving neighbors. Steve along with his wife Judy are owners of Country Carpet in Taylorsville, NC. Steve spent forty years as a sales representative in the flooring business. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Steve was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lenoir, VFW Post 1957 and the Elks Lodge of Hickory, NC. A private Inurnment Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church. The celebration of Steve?s life will be held 3:30 PM Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Christian Life Center of the First United Methodist Church in Lenoir with Reverend Jamie Armstrong and Reverend Marietta Smith officiating.
