Stanley Eugene Nelson

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Stanley Eugene Nelson, age 80, of Lenoir, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home. Born February 7, 1930 in Caldwell County, Mr. Nelson was a son of the late Elmer William and Mossie Crisp Nelson and the husband of Mrs. Goldene ?Goldie? Andrews Nelson of the home. Mr. Nelson was a retired car salesman and a member of Joyceton Baptist Church. He had served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and the U.S. Army for 13 years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dovie Nelson and one brother, Johnny Nelson. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son by his second marriage, Michael Williams and wife Emily of Crossnore; 2 brothers, Eddie Nelson of Lenoir; Gary Nelson and wife Betty of Dade City, FL; 4 sisters, Christine Farruggio of Zion, IL; Irene Church of Collinsville, OK; Pauline Borman of Lambertville, MI and Kathy Henderson and husband John of Ashland, MO. A celebration of Mr. Nelson?s life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend J.W. Crouse and Reverend John Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Evans Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
