Stanley Dale Nelson

Stanley Dale Nelson, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on July 20, 1952 to the late Robert E. Nelson and Doris Turnmire Nelson. He was married to Myra Mcneil Nelson of the home for 52 years.

Stanley was a member of Worship Point Baptist Church where he loved playing his guitar for the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Christmas was his favorite time of the year and he looked forward to sharing the holiday with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Stanley is survived by his sons, Chad Nelson; Steven Nelson and Stacy Owens; grandchildren, Amber Nelson, Makayla Owens, Brianna Cole and Bryson Nelson; and great-grandson, Noah Scruggs.

A celebration of Stanley’s life will be held at Worship Point Baptist Church on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lane Hamby officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be: John Waters, David Miller, R.C. Waters, Dion Curtis, Jim Hinson, Grayson McNeil, Tim McNeil, Lindsey McNeil and Corbin McNeil.
