Sophia Lee Parker

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Sophia Lee Parker, age 76, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born January 4, 1932 in Ashe County, Mrs. Parker was a daughter of the late Ervil Lewis and Dorothy Roark Price. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and attended Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her husband, James Russell Parker of the home; one daughter, Sharon Kirk and husband Terry of Lenoir; one son, Neil Parker and wife Sandra of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Lena Gore and husband John of Bulverde, TX; Nell Sluder of Mountain City, TN; two brothers, Bud Price and wife Janet of California; Ronnie Price and wife Elaine of Lenoir; one grandson, Michael ?Mike? Parker and wife Brooke of Lenoir and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Trivett and one brother, Roger Price. A celebration of Mrs. Parker?s life will be held 7:00 PM Friday, September 26, 2008  in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Keith Gilliam and Pastor David Crisp officiating. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2008 in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM , prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service.
