Shirley Bean Pitts

Lenoir, NC- Shirley Bean Pitts, of Lenoir, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2006. She was the daughter of Marie McCall Bean and the late L.C. ?Red? Bean. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Obie O. Pitts; brothers, Bill and Gerald Beane; a daughter and a grandson. Other than her mother, she is survived by a brother, Jim Beane and wife Joyce of Hudson; and also 2 daughters, Louise Pitts Woodruff and husband Cliff of Lenoir; Martha Pitts Abare and husband Rick of Richmond, VA; one son, Tommy Pitts and wife Katrina of Hudson; and one brother-in-law Henry Pitts and wife Sandy of Lenoir; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held Saturday, July 22, 2006 in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. A Celebration of Shirley?s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Sunrise Baptist Church in Hudson with Reverend David Woods and Reverend Edd Warren officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a contribution in memory of Shirley to be given to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Sunrise Baptist Church, 2643 Mission Road, Hudson, NC 28638.
