Hickory, NC- Mrs. Shirley Lorraine Furr Hall, age 63, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Brian Center in Hickory. Born July 10, 1949 in Caldwell County, Shirley was a daughter of Hattie Jane Fox Furr and the late Jay William Furr. She was a member of the Lenoir Pentecostal Church where she played the organ for many years. She had a love for music and enjoyed working on crafts. She will be remembered by her friends and family for having a heart of gold. In addition to her mother, Shirley is survived by two daughters, Ashley Young of Sugar Grove and Michelle Johnson, husband Will, of Hillsborough, NC; a son Donald Hall, Jr., wife Samantha, of Glen Alpine; two sisters, Sandra Whitt of Baton and Pat Greer of Setzer’s Creek; Shirley is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 2:00 PM at the Lenoir Pentecostal Church with Pastor Tim Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
