Granite Falls – Shirley Killian Foster, age 69, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Burke County on October 28, 1949 to the late Walter and Welda Killian. Shirley worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for several years in office administration. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her Yorkies and knitting scarves for a local boutique. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her late husband, Milton Foster. Earlier in her life she received her cosmetology license and was very proud of her accomplishment. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her children, Michelle Hargus and husband, Kevin; Regina Adkins and wife, Michelle; sisters, Wanda Clark and husband, Benny; and Marlene Butler; grandchildren, Jessica Causby and husband, Derek; and Michael Hargus; and great-grandchildren, Raylee and Evelyn; and her niece, Lisa King and nephews, Dale Reece and Chris Clark. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jim Hamby and Pastor Mark Dolphens officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 prior to the service.
