Sherrill Edwin Garland

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Sherrill Edwin Garland, age 80, of Lenoir, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Catawba County Hospice. Born May 25, 1929 in Johnson County, TN, Mr. Garland was a son of the late Medford and Lucy nave Garland and the husband of Mrs. Margie Ruth Garland of the home to whom he was married for 57 years. Mr. Garland was an active member of First Baptist Church- Hudson where he was a member of the men?s Sunday school class.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a retired truck driver and was a volunteer at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for many years. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son, Keith Alvin Garland and wife Donna of Hickory and one brother, Lloyd Garland of Johnson City, TN. A celebration of Mr. Garland?s life will be held 4:30 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 PM, prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service.
