Shelvy Charles Glazebrook

Shelvy Charles Glazebrook, age 69, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 15, 2024 at Amorem-Burke. She was born in Buchanan County, VA on March 20, 1955 to the late Berlin Buster Charles and Lula Sturgill Charles. She was married to Lewis David Glazebrook of the home.

Shelvy was proud to be the daughter of a Virginia coal miner. She moved to Caldwell County in 1991 where she worked as a CNA for the next 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Gill and her brother, Rocky Charles.

Other than her husband, she is survived by her son, Mike Charles and wife, Lora; step-daughters, Shanda Lingerfelt and husband, Shawn; Vickie Smith and husband, Glen; sisters, Nellene Shrader and husband, Charlie; Dell Stiltner and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Bobbie Austin and husband, David; Austin Charles and wife, Lauren; Brayden Charles; Jennifer and Jessica Gill; Danielle Annas; and Summer Gill.

There will be a memorial service celebrating Shelvy’s life in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Pastor John Jernigan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
