Shelia W. Boda, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on May 14, 1938, Shelia led a life full of passion, love, and unwavering optimism.
A talented artist, Shelia earned her MFA in Photography and founded a successful photography studio. Later, she retired as a rural mail carrier, remembered fondly for her warmth and dependability. Shelia loved gardening, healthy living, and animals, especially her cherished late dog, Sunshine. She found joy and peace at her cabin in the North Carolina mountains, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Fielder, and her second husband, Richard Boda. She leaves behind her sons, Bob Fielder (Ann) and Sean Fielder (Dawn), and five grandchildren: Stephanie Brown (Duncan), Jonathan Fielder (Vonnie), Joseph Fielder (Vanessa), Rebecca McIlroy (Austin), and Savannah Fielder.
A small celebration of life will be held in March at her cabin in North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Extreme, a non-profit helping at-risk children, founded by her son Sean (https://www.faithxtreme.org).
Shelia’s legacy of love and generosity will be cherished always.
Evans Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of Shelia W. Boda.
