Sharon Elizabeth Mcdowell

Sharon Elizabeth Ingle McDowell, age 71, of Granite Falls, North Carolina passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021 at her residence in Granite Falls. Sharon was born September 25, 1949 to the late Gene Ingle and Elizabeth “Lib” Ingle. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty-six years, Richard McDowell; son, Todd McDowell of New Orleans; brother, Kenneth Ingle of Granite Falls; numerous family members and friends. Sharon enjoyed spending sunny days tending to her flowers, as well as reading and traveling. She worked at Caldwell Opportunities in Lenoir for over twenty-five years teaching adults with developmental disabilities. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson for nearly four decades and had been a fifth grade Sunday School teacher for many years. She had a passion for serving the Lord. Her joy came from helping others and she touched many lives. A graveside service to honor her memory will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson on February 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Owen officiating. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund at 1787 Cajah Mountain Rd, Hudson NC 28638 and Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St. Lenoir NC 28645.
