David "Shannon" Hicks

David Shannon Hicks, age 54, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Caldwell UNC Health. He was born in Burke County on December 4, 1969 to David C. Hicks and the late Doris Hamby Hicks.

Shannon will be remembered by his family and friends as a very loving man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing his video games, horror movies, Marvel comics and Christmas.

In addition to his mother, Shannon was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Other than his father, he is survived by his sister, Laura Ward; Donna Landis; numerous close family members; and too many friends to count.

A graveside celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ron Burgett officiating.
