Ruth Watson Suddreth

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Watson McCall Suddreth, age 86, of Lenoir, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born February 5, 1926 in Caldwell County, Ruth was a daughter of the late, John E. and Alma Littlejohn Watson. She was a member of the Gamewell United Methodist Church and had worked in the furniture business for many years as a seamstress. Ruth enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Warren McCall; her second husband, George Suddreth; a brother, John Watson, Jr.; a sister and brother in law, Jessie and Footsie Pruitt; and two nephews, Greg Watson and Larry Pruitt. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Sandra Parker, husband Neil, and Doris Helms, husband Billy, all of Lenoir; a sister and brother in law, Irene Swanson, husband Furman, of Knoxville, TN; a step grandson, Michael Parker, wife Brooke of Lenoir; a step great grandson, Weston Parker of Lenoir; a special caregiver and friend, Billie Dula of Lenoir; Ruth is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Ruth’ s life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Bentley and Pastor Alice Day officiating. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
