Ruth Craig Phillips

Ruth Craig Phillips, age 84, of Lenoir, passed away after a brief illness Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Kirkwood.She was born July 30, 1934 in Cherryville, NC to the late Marshall and Vergie Craig.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Phillips; brother, John R. Craig. Ruth enjoyed her last twelve years living in Lenoir where she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.She enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.Ruth was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Gastonia. Survivors include one son, Doug Phillips and wife Sandra of Lenoir; one daughter, Jacanna Gragg and husband Steven of Boone; four grandchildren, Dustin Phillips and wife McKenzie, Ashley Hastings and husband Jordan, Matthew Gragg, and Courtney Gragg; and three great-grandchildren, Breeanna Phillips, Harper Phillips, and Delaney Hastings. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 pm conducted by Reverend Gordon Noble at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, NC.The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Evans Funeral Service.
