Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Jeanette Ruth Powell Osborne, age 80 of Lenoir, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born April 19, 1927 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Osborne was the wife of the late Joseph Harold Osborne and a daughter of the late Roy Hill and Lula Dale Crump Powell. Mrs. Osborne was a loving mother and grandmother and loved everyone. One of her favorite things was to go to the beach. Her grandson, Kyle said, ?She was the sweetest woman I ever knew?. She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Osborne Bolick and husband Jerry and Susan Osborne Austin and husband Jerry, all of Lenoir; one sister, Johnsie Powell Truesdale and husband William of Lenoir; one brother, Fred Powell and wife Margaret of Lenoir; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Bolick, Beth Bolick, Abby Bolick, Kyle Austin and Catlin Austin all of Lenoir; 3 step-grandchildren, Chuck McCleod and Jerry Ray Austin both of Lenoir and Scott Austin of Hickory, a special god-daughter, Connie Coffey of Granite Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn P. Mabe, Elizabeth Frances Powell and two brothers, Dan Ray Powell and George Mack Powell. A celebration of Mrs. Osborne?s life will be held 11:00 A.M Thursday, August 2, 2007 at North Catawba Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Atkins officiating. Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
