Ruth Baker Newcomb

Ruth Newcomb Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Ruth Baker Newcomb, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cheraw, SC on December 31, 1935 to the late Paul Baker and Edith Miller Baker. She was married to the late David Newcomb. Mrs. Newcomb loved her church, Harrisburg Baptist, where she was known for her knowledge and passion of the Bible. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, David John Newcomb and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Blankenship and husband, Mickey; grandson, Chris and wife Keila; and great-grandchildren, Keegan Blankenship and Garrett Warren. A celebration of Mrs. Newcomb’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ted Williams and Pastor Tony Harris officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Mt. Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bud Dula, Chuck Brawley, Dillon Franklin, Steve Price, Stevie Price, and David Stuart. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
