Ruth Greer

Lenoir – Mrs. Ruth Melton Greer, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Grace Heights Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Caldwell County on August 3, 1935 to the late Charlie W. Melton and Adelaide Shatley Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Jesse Greer; and her sister, Helen Parsons. Mrs. Greer is survived by her daughters, Diane Lewis and husband, Randy; Jane deArmas and husband, Ernesto; sons Barry Greer and wife, Kimberly; and Jesse Greer and wife, Linda; brother, Ray Melton; and sister, Margaret Smith; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Greer’s life will be held at Grandview Park Baptist Church on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Spann and Pastor Barry Greer officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
