Ruth Smith Bush

Ruth Bush Lenoir – Mrs. Ruth Smith Bush, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Gateway Nursing Center. She was born in Caldwell County on January 17, 1919 to the late Lindsey Frazier Smith and Lucy Wilson Smith. Mrs. Bush was a life-long member of Whitnel United Methodist Church and was active at Fontana Community Church in Fontana Village, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hearon Bush; and brothers, Hudson Smith and Max F. Smith. Mrs. Bush is survived by her son, Bill Bush and wife, Patricia of Yanceyville, NC; daughter, Ann B. Morris and husband, Carl of Johnson City, TN; brother, Locke Smith of Lenoir; sisters, Grace Smith of Lenoir; Jo Harris of Lenoir; and Steele Rogers of Chapel Hill; grand-children, Justin Bush and Kimberley Morris; and great-grandson, Scotty Cole. A graveside service for Mrs. Bush will be held at Colliers United Methodist Church Cemetery on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Leon Morrow officiating. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Whitnel United Methodist Church, 1373 Delwood Drive, Lenoir, NC 28645.
