Russell Messer

Mr. Russell Lee Messer, age 69, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born July 29, 1952 in Logan County, West Virginia, Russell was a son of the late Roy Lee and Barbara Jean Messer.Russell was the owner and operator of Rusty’s Home Improvement.He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Lighthouse of Lenoir.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy McMillian. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Gloria Messer; his children, Tara, Little Russell, Michael, Travis and Justin; his grandchildren, Ronnie, Shawna, Dezmon, Caiden and Dakota; his great grandchildren, Dominic and Skyla; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Russell’s life will be held at Lighthouse of Lenoir on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Brother Scott Smith officiating.
