Rubye Montgomery Kennedy

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Rubye Montgomery Kennedy, age 91, of Lenoir, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Gateway Nursing Center. Born May 24, 1917 in Montpelier, TN, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Houston and Ivy Montgomery and the wife of the late Finis Leamon Kennedy.She was a homemaker and a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mary and Martha Sunday school class. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha House and one brother, Gordon Montgomery. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Bulot and husband Paul of Lenoir; Janet Hines and husband Bob of St. Louis, MO and three grandchildren; Mark Bulot and wife Joyce of Graham; Stephanie Hines of St. Louis, MO and Natalie Leonard and husband Chris of St. Louis, MO. A celebration of Mrs. Kennedy’s life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Lower Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at Lower Creek Baptist Church.  Pallbearers will be: Steve Branch, June Smith, Carl Brandon, John Ballew, Joe Wilson and Julian Baker.
