Ruby Lee Staton

Ruby Lee Farthing Staton, 91, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC.Ruby was born in Watauga County, August 22, 1930 to the late Jessie McDonald and Tressie Sara Phillips Farthing.In addition to her parents, her husband of 66 years, Rev. Charles Ralph Staton, her son, Kenneth Ralph Staton, a brother, Johnny Farthing, and a sister, Sue Duggar, preceded her in death. Ruby is survived by her son, Rev. Michael Staton and wife, Donna; a sister, Lucille King and husband Bob; a daughter-in-law, Becky Staton Sanderson and husband Larry; grandchildren: Steven Staton and wife Samantha; Leah Niglio and husband Gianni; Mark Staton and wife Ashley; Cynthia Staton Spruill and husband Jason; great grandchildren: Syler, Sterling, Simon, Skye and Sophia Staton, Liliana and Gustavo Niglio, Evelyn and Jessica Spruill, and numerous nephews and nieces. Ruby was a homemaker and served alongside her husband in churches in Lenoir, Hickory, and Kings Mountain. She enjoyed cooking and growing beautiful flower gardens. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, January 26, at 2:00PM at Whitnel First Baptist Church, 1201 Connelly Springs Road, NC.Rev. Steve Hedgecock and Rev. Gary Lawrence will officiate.Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lenoir, NC.The family will receive friends from 1:00PM –1:45PM prior to the service.
