Ruby Marie Roberts

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ruby Marie Roberts, age 76, of Lenoir, died Monday, September 7, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, of Winston Salem, N.C. Born February 8, 1933 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of the late Zip Cline and Alma Benfield Hice and the wife of the late J.T. Roberts, Jr. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Bethel Advent Christian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was retired from Kincaid Furniture. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Audrey Craig, Arlene Bollinger, Shirley Hice; two brothers, Paul Cline, Edward Hice and two granddaughters, Crystal Roberts and Danielle Roberts. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth N. Roberts and wife Mary; Calvin Eugene Roberts and wife Sandy and Melvin Leroy Roberts all of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Mrs. Faye Russell and husband Earl; Mrs. Odene Gilley and husband Everette all of Lenoir; 5 brothers, James ?Buzz? Hice and wife Peggy; Felix ?Buster? Hice; Ronnie Hice; Donnie Hice and wife Lisa all of Lenoir; Larry Hice and wife Judy of Granite Falls; 4 grandchildren, Stacey Crisp and husband Richard; Emily Roberts and husband Michael Lapage; Chris Roberts and wife Jill; Josh Roberts and 5 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Roberts? life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2009 at Bethel Advent Christian Church with Reverend Jerry Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Larry Looper, Pete Dickerson, Eric Brookshire, Richard Crisp, Dennis Moore, James Adkins and Jimmy Duffy.
