Ruby Catherine Mitcham

Hudson, NC- Ruby Catherine Blair Mitcham, 87, of Hudson passed away on Monday, January24, 2011 at the Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care Center. Born August 15, 1923, in the Dudley Shoals community, she was one of nine children. Ruby was a long time member of Center Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Shuford Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents William Henry and Mary Lou Satterwhite Blair and her eight brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Fred Irvin Mitcham, and an infant daughter, Brenda Mitcham. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Fasold and husband Edward of Hudson; a granddaughter, Megan Faudree and husband, Wesley of Bristow, VA; and a great-grandson, Ashby Faudree also of Bristow, VA. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at the Center Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, January 27, at 3:00 PM with the Reverend Doug Howell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
