Ruby Louise Bivens Lail

Granite Falls NC- Mrs. Ruby Bivens Lail, age 68, passed away Monday, April, 21 2014 at Frye Regional. Born March 10, 1946, Mrs. Lail was a daughter of the late John Marshall and Sue Etta Dabbs Bivens and the wife of the late Harold D Lail. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Shirley Bivens Hayes, Betty Jo Bivens Maxwell and 3 brothers, George Ray Bivens, Richard Dane Bivens and Thomas Herman Bivens. Ruby had a love for enjoying God's beautiful creations such as the beach and watching the flowers reach full bloom. Her faith and strong determination has led her thru many years of sickness, and she always gave God the glory for her blessings. Ruby's grandsons, Colton and Dace, were her daily dose of joy. Hearing “Hey Grandmom, I love you"", were her favorite words to hear. She had many dear friends and family, but her best friend was her daughter, Sheila. Ruby was survived by her daughter, Sheila Lail Kirby and husband, Chad and their two sons Colton and Dace. 1 brother, John Bivens of Hendersonville; 3 sisters , Jean Carpenter of Cherryville; Velda Williams and husband Tommy, of Charlotte; Pat Smith and husband Charles of Lenoir; 4 sisters-in law: Catherine Hefner, Berlene Jarvis, Sarah Lail, and Mary Teague and her husband Richard, 1 brother-in-law, Buster Lail and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Lail's life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 24th at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church with Reverend Gordon West and Reverend Donald Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 until 4 at the church, prior to the service.
