Mrs. Ruby Bolick Bean, age 94, of the Baton Community died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care following a brief illness. She was born in Caldwell County on February 24, 1918 to the late A.A. and Alice Cannon Bolick. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Perry “Buck†Bean; a son, Jerry Wesley Bean; five brothers, Midas, Ira, Walter, Ellis and Noah and three sisters, Lula Smith, Hattie Beck and Gertie Johnson. She is survived by her loving son Donald E. Bean, his wife Betsy, and one grandson, Ronnie Bean, all of Charlottesville, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Jack Bean and wife, Helen, of Clover, SC; and two sisters- in- law, Bennie Rector and Mildred Munday of Rutherford College. She was an active member of Hudson United Methodist Church and supported her husband in many civic and community activities. She will be missed by many friends and family members. A celebration of Mrs. Bean’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM with The Reverend Tim Brittain and The Reverend Ed Warren officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family extends special thanks to the many family, friends and church members who visited and provided love and support.
