Ruby Ellen Auton

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ruby Abel Auton, age 97, passed away on February 1, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Mrs. Auton was born in Johnson County, TN on November 15, 1913 to the late William and Sally Greer Abel. She was married to the late Glen C. Auton. Mrs. Auton retired from Shuford Mills and was a member of Union Baptist Church for more than 60 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David Auton, daughter, Glenda Brady and her great-granddaughter, Brette Jensen. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Auton Miller of Denver, NC; daughter-in-law, Linda Teague Auton; her granddaughters and their husbands, Kim Smith Wyke and Jason, Kelly Smith Jensen and Michael, and Elizabeth Spencer and Robert; her grandsons and their wives, Michael and Jennifer Brady, Byron and Karen Auton, and Philip and Cindy Auton; great-grandchildren, Dustin Williams, Luke Jackson, Tobias, Ruby, Journey, and Learyn Jensen, Grace, Emily, Sarah, and Maggie Auton, and Olivia Brady. A celebration of Mrs. Auton̢۪s life will be held at Union Baptist Church on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Myron Davis officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Byron and Philip Auton, Michael Brady, Dustin Williams, Jason Wyke, and Robert Spencer. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 prior to the service.
