Rosa Leona Hicks

Rosa Leona Hicks, 85, of Hudson passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 after an extended illness.

She was born September 14, 1937 to the late Maude Gragg Chester and Argie Chester.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Hicks; a son, Ricky Hicks; two brothers, Allen and Bobby Chester; two sisters, Carolyn and Nancy Chester.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Hicks (wife Deborah) and Barry Hicks (wife Kelly); sisters, Lucille Church (husband Claude), Ruby Ervin, Margie Taylor (husband Dewey), Reba Greene (husband Jim); a brother, Harvey Chester (wife Libby); she is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where she faithfully attended until her illness.  She was a choir member and involved with the W.M.U. and the Adult Senior Sunday School Class.  Rosa loved the Lord and her church family.  She had an avid talent of Crochet making and giving away items.  Rosa also enjoyed camping and doing puzzles.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Rosa’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:30 PM.  Officiating will be Pastor Mike Isaacs.  Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
