Ronald David Moore

Granite Falls, NC- Ronald David Moore, age 45, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Catawba County on January 15, 1969. He was the son of Judy Barlow Jones and the late Donald Edward Jones. Ron was married to Tracy Johnston Moore of the residence. Ron was a 1987 graduate of South Caldwell High School and graduated in 1991 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance. He was a proud alumni of ASU and was looking forward to watching the Mountaineer football team defeat Michigan again this season. Ron was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 241 of Hudson and enjoyed spending time with his troop and participating in their many activities. His outdoor hobbies included hunting, fishing, and camping. Ron was an ordained deacon and a member of Concord Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Julia Moore Welker and husband, Clay; son, Matthew Moore; daughter, Katy Moore; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his close friends, Jim and Unie Jones. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Concord Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Tom MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends at Concord Baptist Church on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 5:00 until 6:30 PM.
