Ronald Deck

Lenoir- Ronald George Deck, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Gaston County on January 14, 1951 to the late George and Christine Deck. Ron was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Jimmy Texas. Ron is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sherri Deck of the residence; step-son, David Texas and wife, Kim; brothers, William Deck and wife, Treva; Samuel Deck and wife, Kathy; sister, Sharon Carpenter and husband, Miles; and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren and many other family members. A memorial service for Ron will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
