Roger Stephen Hedrick (Steve), age 73, of Lenoir, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 25, 2023. He was born October 31, 1949 to Clay and Rema Hedrick of Lenoir. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Dorcas Blankenship Hedrick of the home; sons, Jeff Hedrick (Crystal), Robert Hedrick (Kimberly); grandsons, Joshua and Samuel Hedrick, Garrett Hedrick; sisters, Reginia Brookshire (Doug), Allison Hoyle (Mark); brother, Carroll Hedrick (Doris) all of Lenoir; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was of the Baptist faith; he was a faithful servant of the Lord and attended First Baptist Church of Hudson where he served as deacon along with various other places of service in the church as well. He served in the military during the Vietnam War in the Army. He retired from the automotive industry after 35 years of service. He worked part-time at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. Steve loved his family with all of his heart. He was married to his wife of 53 years. A loving son and a devoted father and grandpa. He was a “Great” big brother to his siblings. Steve was a friend to all that had the privilege of knowing him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 3:00pm First Baptist Church of Hudson conducted by Pastor Mack Jarvis III, and Dr. Bob Lowman. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service at the church.
