Roger Stamey

Hudson- Paul Roger Stamey, Sr., age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16,2022 at Caldwell UNC Health. He was born in Caldwell County on July 5,1942 to the late John W. “June” Stamey and Margie Harris Stamey. Other than his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Camron Puma. He was married to his loving wife, Jean Triplett Stamey, for 60 years, and caregiver for more than 20 years. Roger will always be remembered for his love for God, deep devotion and love for his family and always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He spent his entire working career as an auto body technician and took great pride in his work. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sandra Whisnant; son, Paul Stamey, Jr. and Denise; grandchildren, Michael Puma and fiancée, Brandy Schronce; Matt Johnson and fiancée, Krysta Strickler; great-grandchildren, Gunnar Puma; Kayleigh Johnson; and Madelyn Johnson; sisters, Ruby McRary and Mae Blair; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00, prior to the service at the Church on the Rock, 2516 Baker Circle, Granite Falls, NC. A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Church on the Rock on Friday, April 22,2022 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Julius Wittenberg and George W. Foot officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
