Roger Lee Mccroskey

Roger McCroskey Hudson – Roger Lee McCroskey, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Gateway Nursing Center. He was born in Mercer County, West Virginia on October 20, 1941 to the late Lemuel McCroskey and Gladys Luellen Hatley. Roger retired from Broyhill Furniture Industries after working for more than 40 years. He was a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife, Gail McCroskey; sisters, Louise Harrison, Lorraine McCroskey, and Jessie McCroskey; and brother, David “Joe” McCroskey. Roger is survived by his daughters, Lisa McCroskey and Sandra McCroskey Stephens and husband, Gene; brother, Daniel McCroskey; sisters, Estie McCroskey Ruppert, Joy McCroskey Martinez; grandchildren, Casey Burress and wife, Hollie; Matthew McCroskey and wife, Carrie; Megan West; Hannah Stephens; Adam Stephens; great-grandchildren, Garrison Burress, Kendel Burress, Caden Burress, Aiden and Colin McCroskey; and Railey Vang; and step-sons, Mark and Mike Laws. A celebration of Roger’s life will be held New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Daniel Buchanan officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Boone Fork Community Cemetery in Blowing Rock. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM.
